How much does a Hoboken wedding photographer cost?
Wedding photography in Hoboken generally runs anywhere from about $3,000 to $10,000 depending on hours, whether you add film, and any extras. My coverage is billed by the hour and fully customizable: photography at $200/hr and film at $250/hr, plus tax, so your total simply follows the hours you book. As a guide, four hours of photography starts around $800, and an eight-hour day with both photo and film runs about $3,600. Weddings of four hours or more include a complimentary engagement session.
What permits do I need for Hoboken outdoor photos?
Photos taken in public parks within Hoboken (Pier A, Pier C, and Sinatra Park) do not require permits for "small unmounted equipment", which covers a wedding photography session. Closed-off areas, drone use, or anything that requires staging needs a film permit from the Hoboken Office of Cultural Affairs.
When does golden hour happen in Hoboken?
In summer, golden hour runs roughly 6:45–7:45PM. In winter it's 3:45–4:30PM. The Hoboken waterfront faces directly west across the Hudson, which means the sun sets behind the Manhattan skyline, which makes for some of the most photographable backlight in the tri-state.
Can you photograph weddings at both Hoboken venues and NYC venues?
Yes. Many of my Hoboken couples have ceremonies in Hoboken and receptions across the river (or vice versa). I include up to two locations in every booking. Additional locations are billed at $200 each, plus mileage.
Do you photograph elopements in Hoboken?
Yes. Hoboken elopements have become a meaningful part of my work. Because coverage is hourly, an elopement is easy to keep simple: two hours of photography starts around $400, for a courthouse or waterfront ceremony and a portrait walk, and you can add film at $250/hr.
