Based in Wallington, Michael Taramona Productions photographs families across New Jersey, from the first 48 hours with a newborn to the chaos and joy of a household with toddlers and grandparents in the frame.
Family photography across New Jersey
A good family session does not feel like a session. We let the kids be kids, follow the energy of the day, and quietly catch the in-between moments, the ones you will actually want on the wall. Sessions happen in your home, in a park near you, or somewhere that means something to your family. Coverage is billed simply by the hour at $200 plus tax, with no cap on the number of photos we take, so you are never rushing the toddler or the dog to beat a clock.
Newborn sessions, in your home
Newborns are most photogenic in their first couple of weeks, and most comfortable at home. We come to you, calm, quiet, and patient, and photograph your baby alongside parents and siblings in the space where the memories will live. No studio, no fuss, no rigid posing. Just soft light and the small details: the tiny hands, the first yawns, the way your family folds around someone brand new. A Fresh 48 session at the hospital or at home is welcome too.
Maternity portraits
The weeks before a baby arrives are worth keeping. We photograph maternity portraits in your home or outdoors, on the same easy hourly basis, with as much or as little direction as you like. Many of our families book maternity, newborn, and a first-year session together so the whole chapter is documented by the same eye.
Children grow and seasons turn. The point of a photograph is to hold one still long enough to remember it.
Baptisms, christenings, and first communions
Faith milestones are a meaningful part of our work. We photograph baptisms and christenings the way they actually unfold: a little getting-ready at home, the ceremony at the church, and the family lunch afterward, and we are comfortable working respectfully inside houses of worship across New Jersey and the surrounding area. First communions, quinceañeras, and other family celebrations are welcome on the same hourly basis. Tell us the parishes and the timeline, and we will build the right amount of coverage around your day.
Simple, honest pricing
No confusing packages. Family, newborn, and maternity sessions are billed at $200 per hour plus tax, and you receive a gallery of warm, fully edited images delivered digitally. The same hourly approach runs across every service we offer, from weddings to real estate. Most sessions need only an hour or two; larger celebrations and baptisms run a little longer. Tell us what you have in mind and we will give you a clear, honest estimate.
Where we photograph
We photograph families throughout New Jersey: Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic, and well beyond, and travel into New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania for the families who ask. If you have searched for a family, newborn, or maternity photographer near you in New Jersey, we would love to be considered. Travel beyond fifty miles of Wallington is billed at cost.
Questions families ask
How much does a family photographer cost in New Jersey?
Our family, newborn and maternity sessions are billed at $200 per hour plus tax, with no cap on the number of photographs taken and a gallery of fully edited images delivered digitally. Most sessions need one or two hours. Baptisms and larger family celebrations usually run a little longer.
When should we book newborn photographs?
Newborns photograph best in their first couple of weeks, and they are most comfortable at home rather than in a studio. Booking during pregnancy and giving us an approximate due date works better than waiting, because the window after the birth is short. A Fresh 48 session, at the hospital or at home in the first two days, is also an option.
Do you travel for family sessions, and is there a travel fee?
We photograph families throughout New Jersey, including Bergen, Hudson, Essex and Passaic counties, and travel into New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania on request. Travel beyond fifty miles of our Wallington studio is billed at cost.
What should our family wear for photographs?
Coordinate rather than match. Pick two or three colours that work together, keep patterns and logos to a minimum, and dress for the temperature you will actually be standing in. Comfortable children photograph better than well dressed ones, so let them wear something they can move in.
Do you photograph baptisms and christenings?
Yes. We cover baptisms, christenings and first communions the way they actually unfold: a little getting ready at home, the ceremony itself, and the family meal afterwards. We are comfortable working respectfully inside houses of worship across New Jersey and the surrounding area. Tell us the parish and the timeline and we will build the right amount of coverage around it.
Tell us a little about your family and what you are hoping to remember, and we will answer personally.
